The Way I See It

A video produced by Campaign Social and Belfast Feminist Network. The work features an actress and deals with rape and sexual assault from the perspective of a survivor.

The film is a response to the horrors of a system where women are often blamed for their assaults. There is a real and dangerous risk that people who have been raped won’t come forward and report them because of the stigma attached. In the short we follow as a victim comes to terms with how she feels, her experience reveals how damaging the culture of victim-blaming is for women.

This film was produced in partnership with Belfast Feminist Network, who believe that more needs to be done to emphasize that rape is never acceptable. Once again I would point out that this is an actress playing the role of a survivor.
